Michael was called to the Bar as a member of the Law Society of Ontario in 2014 and as a
member of the New York State Bar in 2024 and now practices in the firm’s Business and Real Estate Law Groups. He is a corporate generalist who focuses on addressing corporate governance matters, negotiating commercial contracts, and advising on business plans and tax planning documentation. Michael also provides general legal assistance on residential and commercial real estate purchases and sales as well as related financings. Michael also acts for both private and institutional lenders and borrowers assisting with both secured and unsecured lending for businesses.
Michael’s practice in Corporate Law includes all aspects of a corporation’s existence from
incorporation through to dissolution, and everything in between. He is an experienced business
advisor with expertise in handling corporate governance issues, operational issues, succession
planning and risk management/mitigation.
Michael enjoys negotiating agreements necessary to ensure the smooth operation of a
corporation. These matters include the drafting and review of shareholder agreements,
partnership agreements, joint venture agreements, option agreements, employment agreements,
service agreements and a variety of other corporate and commercial agreements and documents.
Michael routinely co-ordinates with accounting and tax planning professionals in order to ensure
the timely and effective implementation of tax planning and other cost-saving objectives in a
cost-effective and efficient manner.
In the community, Michael currently serves on the board of People Players Inc. (commonly
known as Famous People Players) and acts as corporate secretary. He has previously served on
the King Township Public Library Board, including as its chair.
Michael is an avid reader and technology enthusiast who also enjoys participating in outdoor
activities and challenges such as the Tough Mudder and Spartan Race obstacle courses and is
currently working towards attaining his black belt in Karate.
