Joseph was called to the Bar as a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2010 and now practices in the firm’s Business Law Group. Joseph’s practice is primarily focused on corporate and commercial law, and his experience includes corporate reorganizations (including for estate and tax planning), mergers and acquisitions, financing, and commercial leasing. He also regularly advises start-up businesses on how best to structure their venture to achieve their immediate and long term goals.
In connection with his mergers and acquisitions practice, Joseph advises on the purchase and sale of businesses by way of share purchase and asset purchase, and he has acted as counsel on a variety of matters in a diverse array of industries including hospitability, construction, education, health care services, and sports.
Joseph is also experienced in working with clients on the incorporation and organization of their business and the drafting and reviewing of shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, joint venture agreements, option agreements, employment agreements, distribution agreements, service agreements, and a variety of other corporate and commercial agreements and documents.
Joseph regularly advises directors, officers, and shareholders of closely held private corporations on governance matters and compliance matters with respect to all areas of corporate law on a provincial and federal level.
Joseph is a sports enthusiast and automotive hobbyist, and enjoys spending his time away from the office with his family.
